Gordon Wallace Endowment

Gordon W. Wallace, Jr. Memorial Endowment Fund

Gordon W. Wallace, Jr. was a principal founder and driving force behind Anna Julia Cooper School. In his unassuming yet steadily tenacious manner, he shepherded the School from its very beginning, serving as the Board Chair for the School’s first eight years, and actively continuing on the board until his passing in May 2021.

The School is an expression of Gordon’s belief in, and passion to help make possible, a quality education for those who, because of their circumstances, are least likely to have access to one. The first floor of the our middle school building is named in his honor, in recognition of both his impact on the School and the affection and esteem the AJC community holds for him. Funds from the endowment support ongoing operations at AJC.

We invite you to make a financial contribution to support life-changing educational opportunities for low-income students for years to come.
