Anna Julia Cooper School (AJC) seeks a mission-driven, part-time Director of Admissions to lead student enrollment efforts. The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong commitment to the School’s mission and values, brings experience in admissions, enrollment management, or a related field, and approaches work with prospective students and families with warmth and professionalism. Excellent communication and organizational skills, along with the ability to build strong relationships with families and community partners, are essential. Experience in an independent school or nonprofit setting is preferred.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing the full admissions cycle, including inquiry, application, evaluation, and enrollment
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for prospective families
  • Coordinating admissions events, school tours, and outreach efforts
  • Maintaining admissions records and data
  • Collaborating with school leadership to support enrollment goals

     

The position is part-time (~10 hours per week). Compensation is based on experience and abilities.

Anna Julia Cooper School (AJC) is seeking a compassionate and experienced School Nurse to join our school family beginning next school year. This is a part-time position (approximately 20 hours per week). The successful candidate will be a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with experience working with children in a school, clinical, or community health setting.

AJC is an independent, faith-based school that provides full-tuition scholarships to K–8th grade students of limited economic resources from Richmond’s East End. Our mission is to love, educate, and uplift our students and graduates so that they may realize their God-given gifts. The School Nurse plays a vital role in supporting student health, wellness, and safety so that students are able to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing basic first aid, illness assessment, and nursing care during the school day
  • Administering medications and maintaining student health records in compliance with school policies and state regulations
  • Reporting to Virginia Department of Health regarding student vaccination status
  • Communicating with families regarding student health needs
  • Supporting health screenings and wellness initiatives
  • Collaborating with school leadership, teachers, and staff to promote a safe and healthy school environment

The successful candidate will have a strong desire to uphold the School’s mission and values, demonstrate care and discretion in working with students and families, and contribute positively to our close-knit school community.
