School Bus Driver
Position Summary

The School Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting students to and from school each day. The driver will provide reliable, courteous, and professional transportation while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for students.

 

Schedule

Monday–Friday

Morning: 7:15 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.

Afternoon: 2:45 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Total: Approximately 3 hours per day

Compensation: $30/hour

 

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely transport students to and from school according to established routes and schedules.
  • Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the school bus.
  • Follow all applicable traffic laws, school policies, and transportation regulations.
  • Maintain a safe, orderly, and respectful environment on the bus.
  • Monitor student behavior and address minor behavioral concerns appropriately.
  • Communicate promptly with school administrators regarding accidents, delays, safety concerns, or student issues.
  • Keep the bus clean and in good operating condition.
  • Complete required transportation and safety documentation.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when interacting with students, families, and school employees.

 

Required Qualifications
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with air brake endorsement/qualification.
  • Safe driving record.
  • Ability to pass all required background checks and screenings.
  • Ability to work reliably Monday through Friday during the scheduled morning and afternoon routes.
  • Strong communication skills and a demonstrated commitment to student safety.

 

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience driving a school bus or transporting children.
  • Experience working with school-age children.
  • Familiarity with local roads and the surrounding community.

 

Physical Requirements

The position requires the ability to safely operate a school bus, assist students as needed, and perform routine vehicle safety inspections.

 

Compensation

$30 per hour, approximately 15 hours per week during the regular school week.
