Volunteer
Each year, volunteers give thousands of hours of time and expertise to our community, invaluable resources as we attempt to offer the best education possible to our students. We welcome volunteers to serve as tutors, classroom volunteers, lunch buddies, mentors, administrative/office helpers. We also welcome help from those who are able to help with maintenance work. Annual Fund
All students at AJC receive a full-tuition scholarship to attend. The federal or state government does not fund us, making support from our benefactors crucial to our continued viability. Our annual operating budget of $4 million is raised by contributions from individuals, corporations, foundations, and churches that believe in our mission. Gifts to the Annual Fund help us meet our operating budget, from teacher salaries, facilities maintenance, and supplies to computer technology and snacks. The Annual Fund’s fiscal year begins on July 1 and ends on June 30. All donations are tax-deductible.
Anna Julia Cooper Scholarship Foundation
Your qualified gift of cash or securities to the Anna Julia Cooper Scholarship Foundation provides a 65% Virginia tax credit (possibly in addition to other federal and state charitable deductions). This is truly a win-win for our School and our supporters. The program requires the submission of a preauthorization form before the gift is made. Click here for details.
