Paired with a "Big Sis" volunteer for the entire school year, sixth grade girls participate in Make Space at the Visual Arts Center of Richmond every week. The artwork the pairs make together is saved until a year end celebration, when the girls take the projects home to decorate their own space! Engaging in activities like pottery throwing, they explore creative outlets and build lasting relationships with their mentors. |

Special visitor Bishop Gayle Harris led AJC’s Ash Wednesday Chapel. She asked, “what could you let go of, turn into ashes, to make the world a better place?” Students’ answers, ‘jealousy, anger, anxiety, and racism,’ were wise beyond their years! |
